Normally I buy shampoo and conditioner from the same brand. But sometimes, I can only find shampoo, while the conditioner is nowhere to be found. In that case, can you just grab one from another manufacturer?

Hi of course you can, i find that sometimes using different brandes together do wonders for the hair, Sometimes when you my the same range of shampoo and conditioner you find dont find it makes your hair as good as you want it to be, but i find if i use a different conditioner then i get silky smooth locks. Brands only make the shampoo and conditioner so you think you have to by the same make, at the end of the day your only making them money. There is no law against it.

Of course you can, i am a hairdresser and it really does not matter. When it says on the back of the bottle use the shampoo/conditioner in conjunction with the product it is just a gimmick to make the manufactuer more money.

I think you can use whatever you want. Like you mentioned, I would think that the items from the same brand would complement each other, but you if you can't find one or the other, what is a girl to do?

Just keep an eye on your hair afterwards and see if you like the end results soon after/days later.

It should be fine to use different brands, but it probably makes it the same kind of technique better to use as shampoo and conditioner. So... if you see like a frizz-away from Sun silk and another frizz-away from Suave you could use it.

I don't think it'll hurt, but I believe shampoo and conditioner of the same brand are formulated to work together.

No. Your hair will decompose and fall out in 24 hours. Then, if exposed to sunshine, your bald scalp will go wrinkly and a giant mole will grow above your left eyebrow, periodically exploding a green liquid- every 5 mins i think. You haven't already done it have you? Aaaaarghhhh!!!!!!

That is so cute!!
Yes you can use different brands. What do you think might happen, you think your head might explode?!?!?!

Sorry, it is just funny.

The companies would recommend you use both their shampoo and conditioner, but that's just cause they want your money.

Your hair is in safe hands. relax
