Don’t the Bible and science oppose each other?

The Bible is not a science textbook. Nevertheless, it is accurate when it mentions facts within the realm of science. Furthermore, the Bible contains physical knowledge about the world that was not generally known when the writers recorded the words of God. God created the heavens and the earth, and He intimately knows all about His creation. He simply told His prophets about the nature of earth and the universe, and they wrote down the scientific information He gave them.

One of the chief arguments against the Bible is that evolution, not creation, is responsible for the origin of animals and man. Christian Educational Services joins its voice with thousands of other educated Christians in categorically denying that evolution is true and that men and women are the product of millions of years of unplanned and random changes. The evidence from all branches of science is confirming that God did create the heavens and the earth, just a

as the Bible says. We have material on the subject, and the reader is also referred to the many books, articles, and scholarly monographs on the subject done by The Institute for Creation Research, The Creation Evidences Museum, and Answers in Genesis, some of the organizations that specialize in teaching the truths about Creation. [For a full list please read Creation / Evolution References.]

Unfortunately, many bookstores do not have books written from a creationist point of view, so it is easy for the average person to assume that there are only a few “religious fanatics ” who still deny evolution. In fact, there are hundreds (yes, hundreds) of books written by competent and credible scientists that explain why creation, not evolution, is the most logical choice for the origin of the universe and of mankind. Why is it that a theory that has never been proven is so widely believed? Schools and museums and the media all discuss evolution as if it were fact.

I completely agree with you. I've done my research and evolution in reality has not been proven. It is the media that propagates the myth of evolution, even brainwashing children with pictures of monkey-men in textbooks to do it. They've even go so far as to make whole skeletal structures of out of small bone fragments in order to provide "physical proof" of evolution, like with "Piltdown Man", a fraud that was not discovered as a fraud until 40 years after it was made. It's a big lie, one of the greatest frauds in history. Even Darwin said, "If evolution has occurred, where are the missing links?"
Belief in God and science is completely compatible. In fact, the Bible has a lot of scientific foreknowledge that "scientists" didn't even discover until centuries later, even just in the last century when it was right in front of them all along.
The Bible says it was God who made everything, and that it was God who established laws that hold everything in its place. Hence to see science for what it really is is to see the fingerprint of God.

Evolution is not debated within the scientific community. You have not given any arguments supporting Creationism. All the evidence supports evolution. 'Denying' this only makes you look ignorant.

Also, the Bible does not have scientific facts. The Bible claims the world is 6000 years old and was created in 6 days. This is not true. The Bible claims the Earth is flat and the center of the universe. This is not true.

Also, there is no such thing as an evolutionist. That is a derisive neologism, attempting to make a scientific theory just another religious belief. This is deplorable.

The bible as a history book is accurate from the Exodus on. But the telling of creation in Genesis is pretty flawed. As far as the flood is concerned, there isn't enough water in the world to cover the whole planet. And most scholars believe that with revisions and editing over the years, people added details about the world that were known then but now when the stories supposedly happened.

I won't take time to deal with all of the rhetoric and misinformation but I'll highlight one blatant falsehood out of the many that are included on that site.

With regards to evolution one of the authors states

"I am referring to “macroevolution,” which is actual evolutionary development including change of phylum, class, order, family, and genus. This should be distinguished from “evolution in the species,” which is not actually evolution at all. Within each species there is genetic room for change, and it is sad that this change within the species is often called “evolution.

Which all sounds very impressive-a nice bit of wordplay to confuse the uninformed- but it is a complete falsehood. Evolution is only defined as a change in the genetic structure of any given species over time. This character wants to change the goalposts to conform to his opinions of what evolution should mean-that isn't science, that's make believe. Real scientists work within a scientific framework-creationists manufacture their own framework and insist that everyone else accepts their model and definitions. It is intellectual dishonesty in the extreme.

If you read the Bible literally, the world and the whole universe were created about 5,000 years ago. This is absurd. Please, if you really believe the Bible, give me your car because you should not be driving, you should be riding a donkey. And you should be doing it in the Holy Lands, not in America. Seriously, how can you rationalize using 150 million year old petroleum in your car when the Bible says it doesn't exist?? If you want to turn your back on science, turn your back on ALL of it, not just the parts that are convenient. Thank you.

Yeah, the bible is accurate "when it mentions facts within the realm of science" like Methuselah living 900 years, and Jonah being swallowed by a whale. It's totally true, I'm sure, and that the earth was created in seven days, when we can show scientifically that it was created before its moon and the moon took 30 days to form. we can prove that. the bible is a story book--a nice story book, but still a story book.
Peace

There may have been evolution on this planet, but where did the 1st life form come from? If all of life evolved from one life source, where did this life source come from? If it just existed, or popped into being, then it sounds pretty much like the Uncaused first cause that many would call god.

Not a bit. If you try to read the Bible literally, you find it contradicts itself and it contradicts nature. Once you break your mind free and look at Creation, you realize that it was a book written by men around the Eastern half of the Mediteranean, and surrounding areas. It has some marvelous observations and insights, but it's scope is limited.

Nice copy and paste from a creation science website. Do some quick research on what % of biologists and geologists believe in biblical creation before you try make it sound that creation scientists are the majority. Quit getting your info off of creation "science" websites.
