I quit coaching a while back because I couldn't deal with it any more... the parents that is.

Now as a parent, I know that I can get a bit too into the game, which is why I am sitting off by myself in a corner, far away from the rest of the crowd. There I can make my rude comments that nobody needs to hear but me. It isn't that its my child out there usually, I also do it at footballl and soccer games that I have no interest in.

I do find it interesting watching the other parents though. Its amazing that the more physical the sport is, the more physical the parents become. A parent watching a tennis match may groan when their kid gets hit in the head with a ball, but at a hockey match the parent of the kid that got hit in the head with the puck is out on the ice throwing punches at the ref, the players, and maybe their own kid.

They are nuts. It is a major problem. I do not know if its because these guys are reliving their youth or what. Just try and keep peace in the stands and explain to your kids that some people are immature. When they do get a good coach , one that can teach the game , inspire and is a gentleman , you will really appreciate it.

for coaches it all about winning that reflects on them, also if they dont win they dont have a job very long, also i think coaches live and teach by there own standards, unlike teachers in the school buildings, coaches are in sports arenas or gyms away from all the administrators

Because they forget the reason why they are there, it is supposed to be fun for the kids but, they turn it into a winning type of thing and ruin it. They take it way too seriously

They are miserable in their own personal lives and trying to live re-live their lives vicariously through the kids and their efforts and personal plans get frustrated because no one is working together because they're all playing the "me me me" game and the kids get left out completely. It's crap.
