A better way to handle it would be to either avoid the aggressive person or assertively state "I am not going to answer that question".
Why have someone force you into doing something wrong? Just because that person's being aggressive is wrong does not mean that you need to do something wrong to correct it.
You know the saying "2 wrongs don't make a right".

I'm not going to compromise my values because of an aggressive person or anyone for that matter. I would either say "that's personal, I'd rather not answer that, why would you need to know that, why would you ask that" or avoid the question and change the subject. A lie is a lie and it's never the best answer.

Personally, I think it's always ok to tell white lies to protect your privacy. You also can just refuse to answer at all. Nobody has a right to demand that you answer any question (unless you're a kid dealing with your parents or other legitimate authorities, or you're a witness in a trial). Just don't answer the question and walk away. It's really not a good idea to allow aggressive people to get authority over you by the power of their personality.
Did you know that the only kind of lying that's forbidden by the 10 commandments is "bearing false witness against thy neighbor," meaning you are lying to get someone in trouble. That doesn't mean that's it's a good idea to lie, but lying is not always a moral issue.

Most people lie, at some point or another, for whatever reason. I try to keep it to a minimum in my life, even white lies. I'd rather skirt an issue or say nothing, than tell an untruth.
However if I thought I was in danger of harm, then I'd probably spit out a white lie (perhaps an even bigger one) to keep my butt from getting kicked...it would really though, depend on the situation and what I was considering lying about.
I can run pretty fast when I have to. :P

I think you are correct. It is wrong to lie but there is the occasion that a small white lie that hurts no one and actually sometimes helps to keep someone from being hurt is ok.

If they are asking something that is non of their business, then just tell them so! Why do you want to lie? A lie is a lie, black or white or red!

I feel a white lie is ok when someone is talking about a friend in a negitive way, or trying to get information that could hurt someone.

No lie is "fine". A lie is a lie. There are no "white lies".
