Religion has nothing to do with ability to manage Glasgow Rangers and I would imagine Paul Le Guen is Catholic. The real issue here is your religious bias and you are still living in the Dark Ages if that is your motivation to support Rangers. Why dont you get an interest in another sport like Fishing? As far as I know there will be no religious disputes and the solitude may assist with your cerebral development.

Only if Glaswegians and Rangers fans were silly enough to think it made a difference. I don't think they are.
This is like asking if it would be silly for a Republican to manage the San Francisco Giants (a baseball team in the Benighted States).
Talent rules, not religion. If a Pakistani Muslim and an Israeli Jew can get together and compete successfully in doubles tennis (this has happened), then a Catholic can manage a professional team in a Protestant stronghold. It's not like this guy is going to bring in a priest to bless the team before every game!
Perhaps I am too naive.

it would cause a lot of resentment amongst the fans - keep the catholics and protestants seperate for a few more generations at least. Everytime they lost they fans would want to hang the manager high.

Football is the individual religion for the whole world. So our real religion must go to the second position. If you want to support Rangers, support them. One very important thing in football is that you can show your support to you favourite team. You shouldn't show who are you: Catholic or Protestant. It is only history.

I'll bet its not dawned on anyone...but as Le Guen is French, there is a 90% chance he's from a Catholic family.

Your not as daft as some people think fudgie. Thanks for telling that *** hole Jock off. What does it matter what religion a manager is if they do the job you want done. I mean I love the manager Rangers have and I think he is doing a great job keep it up Saint Paul.
