This is an old wives tale but i have recently used it please post a thankyou so i regain my points.... if your child bites their tongue or cheek reach for the sugar... YES SUGAR... one spoonful pop it in their mouth it stops the bleeding straight away... I PROMISE... my son nearly took the end of his tongue off and it worked so we could see what he had done.

Thanks for that, I will try to remember that if one of my two happen to do it.

Another tip re cut on kids. Use a red, or at least dark coloured, flannel to mop up the blood. The sight of blood on a white flannel is enough to freak a kid out.

Thanks! My toddler still bites his tongue or lip almost daily. His tongue has scars from so many cuts.

people say salt works but I've never tried using sugar. thanks for the tip
