Before it's just OVER the top? I kept telling Mel to reign it in. He had Me bleeding more than a mid-size slaughter house. Fine line between art and snuff film and Mel crossed it.

The average human body contains approximately 6 quarts (or 5.6 liters) of blood

so I would say that movie had about 20-30 quarts

Have you ever seen older movies that showed the Crucifixion? Hardly a drop of blood! Jesus was beaten and scourged , pierced his side a crown of thorns placed on his head. It does say that His sweat was like drops of blood. and that Jesus bleed from every opening of his body! He was bleeding from his ears, eyes mouth, and on and on.. Mel's depiction was as close as it could really get. I am sure that Jesus must have lost most of all the blood in his body! Please read you Bible and picture it in your minds eye and I'm sure you'll agree that Mel did not cross the line one bit.

It is a bit over the top. But, the movie got the point across didnt it lol
I personally didn't like the movie anyway, I don't think there needs to be a movie about that to try and convert people or whatever

LOL! I agree. If that movie reflects reality, then Jesus would have died before even being nailed to the cross.
