I don't believe pills are the way to go. You might even be allergic to them.

One tends to put on weight gradually, almost without noticing, so I would say losing the weight should be done the same way - almost without noticing.

Too much of a drastic change in your diet will have you eventually craving the very foods you're trying to cut back on/cut out.

This 5 pieces of fruit and veg a day regime? Do you do it? Gradually, cut back on all the bad things (fast food, ready meals, sweet and or fried foods, white flour, etc) and gradually eat more fruit and veg, especially veg. Try all different kinds.

I can't be bothered with chopping, peeling, preparing, etc before I can eat it. I want it now!

Pick up 2 or 3 bags of different kinds of frozen veg when you go shopping and use them. Mix and match.

Its not just what you eat, but how much you eat.

Some woman come on one of those diet programmes saying "I don't eat much", yet she was about 5 stones overweight (without any prior medical problems)!

When the camera homed in on the amount of mashed potato she was spooning on to a plate .... my word - it would have fed 3 grown men!

Use a smaller dinner plate than usual. Imagine its a clock face. From, say, 12pm to 3pm is your protein, from 3pm to 6pm is your carbohydrate, and 6pm to 12am is your veg or salad.

Nothing should be piled high on the plate. All portions (apart from veg/salad) should about the size of the palm of your hand.

Keep doing that and you'lll start loosing weight without even noticing. Some kind of exercise, anything (going up and down the stairs/walking/swiming/lifting light weights) is good. You shouldn't end up with tyres of loose skin either.

Always eat breakfast! Most important meal of the day.

The old saying comes to mind - breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, dine like a pauper.

There are no safe pills or a safe diet plan, though someone will sell you one that will not work for you. Get a book and put a date on it. Then wrte your weight next to it. Then each day after you walk and excercise write down your new wight. You must also make an effort to cut down on you calories by switching to more natural foods. By this I mean salads, fruits and vegetables. Also, drink one full glass of water before you eat-this is a must. You will not see results right away, but continue this plan and you will lose weight. How much you lose will depend on how much you follow this plan. .....KECK

if in UK your only option is Hoodia cactus an appetite suppressant. If in US there are dozens of amphetamine based pills which will suppress your appetite completely. They come which many heath warnings and risks though and can be highly addictive. The sort of pros are you'll have lots of energy wont eat and wont sleep. so make up your own mind if its a good thing. Phentermine is good as is Tenuate, Adipex. I've given you a link to all the available pills. i know nothing about the credibility of this site so i don't know if the pills are what they say they are but the manufacturer names are real.

Dietary Pills to my opinion are not healthy. Eating healthy is the most important thing and balance diet. Drinking plenty of water. No white refined sugars. No eating after 7P.M. When craving sugar have some green tea if it settles okay with you. Get Plenty of exercise. Always consult with your doctor when making changes to your diet.

I've never heard of a dietary pill that does anyone any good. I'd recommend avoiding them all together, and just going with good ol' exercise and moderating what you eat. There is no quick fix.

There are three chemical based diet pills in use in the UK.

Xenical (stops you absorbing fat), Meridia & Acomplia (both appetite suppresents). You can get all three from your GP is your BMI is over 30.

Although a lot of GPs won't prescribe Acomplia as it is too new and has nasty, nasty side effects.

I've tried all three, for me Xenical is definately the way forward. it doesn't mess with your head and the weighht loss is reasonably quick.

don't use pills to lose weight.

Do it the "old fashioned" way by eating healthier, exercising, and drinking lots of water just to name a few.

Losing weight is all about changing your lifestyle. You can't do that with a pill.
