VERY different. My mother was raised and considers herself to be (non-church going) Primitive Baptist. My father was Church of Christ. I had the opportunity as a child to attend both of those types of churches, as well as go to church with Catholic friends, and some other baptists I think.

As I became an adult, church wasn't for me (and didn't really interest me much as a kid). Little of it made sense, too much was contradiction, and I saw almost none of the people I knew that regularly attended church, follow the teachings of their church.

In my early 30s I discovered Paganism and it struck a strong chord in me...so much more of it made sense and I realized that a lot of it was how I'd felt all along but didn't know what it was...

Then, over time, with more reading, more discussing with others...I've come to where I am today which is (somewhat of an oxymoron) an Agnostic Pagan. I doubt there are any higher powers, gods or goddesses but I don't know that for sure (no one does). I do believe in reincarnation and think when we're done, our essence goes on to a higher plane of existence (not the xian version of heaven). I try to be kind to the earth and the people and creatures on it...and treat others as I'd like to be treated.

That's me.

even as i replaced into growing up we were all Catholic, then through a real experience of non-acceptance we left the Catholic church and joined a Methodist Christian church were my mom replaced right into a lay human being. on the prompt my kinfolk doesn't attend church and that i do not evaluate myself a member of any of the faiths that I have taken area in. i do not extremely imagine that my mom is familiar with that I have quite somewhat lost faith in prepared faith yet I have the feeling that if she did she does not blame me. If I were raised without faith I have the feeling i might want to be questioning what I were lacking, besides the undeniable fact that in view that i replaced into raised interior the non secular community I understand my beliefs are literally not as black and white (and purple) because the scriptures tell it.

Yes, I was raised in a Catholic household (though my parents never pushed their religion on us. They decided to let us decide so I rarely saw a church growing up unless for weddings, baptisms, and funerals).

I lost my faith in Christianity so long ago I barely remember believing in the Christian god.

I was atheist for years. Until I found Wicca. Wicca is so different from Christianity there aren't even words. It's so much more accepting and warm and welcoming. It realizes the importance of the earth and that we aren't separate from nature, but a part of it instead.

Completely unlike Christianity. Christianity is harsh and cruel and attempts to instill fear in you every chance it gets with it's vengeful and cruel god.

Most definitely different from my fathers. My father is Lutheran but never attends any type of church service, he says it is because he doesn't want to appear as a hypocrite if he attends on holidays.
My mom, no. My mom always raised us kids in the church. We did attend a few different types, my mom wanted to find the best fit for all of us. Growing up I started out as catholic, made my first communion, and then as I got older my mom decided that she didn't like the beliefs of the catholic church. So we started going to a protestant church. I still attend that same church today and I am almost 31. My children also attend the church with me.

Yes, My mother raised me in the Missionary Baptist church, my dad was Jesus only Pentecostal. I joined the Southern Baptist age 14, Age 20 I spent one and a half year in the Assembly of God church, then one and a half year in the Jesus only Pentecostal, then few months studying with the Jehovah's Witness and then a few months as an atheist then I spent the next 25 years as a lay minister for the churches of Christ and now I am Wiccan.

I was lucky that my parents didn't shove religion down my throat. That happened in many of my school friends. We were raised in the Catholic religion, but didn't go to church regularly. Now I am not religious at all - my choice.

Yes, it is different.

My Dad was a preacher in an evangelical church, although he left the ministry when i was quite young.

The family then spent years going to a Presbyterian church, and then converted to United Methodist. My Mom and step-dad (my father is deceased) are still members of the United Methodist church (he converted from Roman Catholicism after marrying my Mom).

I'm Pagan, specifically small-w wiccan.
