As a rule BPD affects each individual differently. It doesn't sound to me that she is taking her medicine. Everyone feels LOVE, but BPD sufferers feel desperation, depression, etc. stronger than LOVE...hence the disease. Most feel hurt by the WORLD & unfortunately share that to all that care about them. I can't speak for your daughter, however I would suggest that your whole family is tested & the proper medication is made readily available.

My aunt is BPD and has severe depression for about 80% of this time. During this time she doesn't answer the phone or leave the house, she just sleeps and watches tv when she can't sleep.
She says she is numb.
I watched a doco the other day and for people with depression, even their vision was 'numbed'. Colours are dull, music is dull, everything is just sort of nothing.
So to answer your question, your daughter probably doesn't care that she hurts others, because she is so numb - she doesn't FEEL.
It's not her fault. She has a disease., well an illness.
Please seek some help for YOUR self, so you can focus on you, and detach with love from your daughter.
Your life doesn't have to miserable too.

She has a mental disorder. Is she getting help? Therapy? Medication? How old is she? As a parent, it is your responsibility to make sure that she receives all the care possible. It may hurt you, but you have to be the better person and stand by her anyway to give her support. She may say that she doesn't need your love, but it is the direct opposite. She needs your love more than anything else in the world.

I have BPD. You could read the book called I hate you, don't leave me. We feel love and we care that we hurt others. Honestly, we are extremely sensitive, if we feel we are about to be abandoned then we run(scared of abandonment), manipulative... I would say she gets angry about something that is small and because she is oversensitive, etc. she makes it large. I think in general we are just confused.

I thinkthe best answer is that BPD is also known as Bad Parent Disorder.
It's your fault for raising her the way you have without disipline!
