I've never been to NYC, but I gotta say that I have a great time in ATL places like buckhead and downtown are great to party and outside the town there is a lot of nice place to eat and have fun (up to peachtree indus...OMG there is the best restaurant and pubs ever !) Do worry you'll get used to, just be curious

You're in for a different taste of nightlife. I'm from the north too. Even though Atlanta is worlds apart from NYC, it's still a really great city to be in. Different doesn't mean bad, you know? The clubs in Buckhead should give you a taste of home. Some of them attract more conceited, uppity people (in my opinion), but it's a cool club scene altogether. Visit www.accessatlanta.com for more club & nightlife info. And especially with so many music artists being from Atlanta, you KNOW the club scene has to be hot. Guest appearances, grouppies and everything...
There's a ton of New Yorkers down here and I've NEVER heard any of them say they're disappointed. Hope you enjoy it too!

Two words.. culture shock. I too, am a native New Yorker (Brooklyn) My only suggestion is to visit the Buck head club scene. I have been here for a few years, and it is my oponion that Buck head is as much city as your going to get in the Atl.

Welcome.
