Oh tell me about it!!!

The money I have spent over the years on cat beds ... I'm glad to say that, since my marriage in 1999, my husband has managed to dissuade me from this behaviour, having had even more experience of cats than I have.

I don't remember ever having seen ANY of my cats sleeping in ANY of the beds I bought for them. Well, possibly once or twice, just out of curiousity.

Basically, they will just sleep where they want to - ours have a range of fave places which include: on our settee or just behind it, under the dining room chairs, in the ironing basket and on the stairs. We have to be very careful going up and down stairs in case there is a cat there in the Land of Nod!

It's the same thing with toys - and we both still get seduced into buying those from time to time, I'm afraid to say. Again a total waste of money - they would much rather chase a screwed up bit of paper than a fluffy mouse that cost a couple of pounds!

Love them all, hope this helps!

That is the way that cats are.

Mine love plastic bags, and will use a single sheet of paper as a bed. If I put something I printed on my bed (right next to my comp), one of the cats is sure to come curl up right on it.

Mine like my shoes, too.

It's a cat thing...

Definitely sounds wierd to me! lol; but try putting the plastic bag over the soft bed and after a couple of days throw the bag away. Maybe it is familiar to him/her or they like the crinkly sound the bag makes.

Maybe the plastic bag warms up quickly when he lays on it so he feels comforted, off the floor and warm. Sometimes cats, being the contrary critters they are, want what we don't want them to have. So you have expressed annoyance at the cat using the plastic rather then the nice expense cushion so he's doing it to upset you.

possibly weird... but it could be that your cat just isn't used to it yet...
