I asked myself the same question and the answer is I don't know. If you implement a lifestyle change that you will continue to live by even after you loose weight then I think it's possible!

Your eating will have to change a fair bit. No junk, more water, smaller portions, low fat, low sugar, high fibre, more fruit and vegetables - basic common sense!

If you follow a diet plan - that will probably work coupled with working out!

Magic word is EXERCISE!

Find an exercise that you like! I dance and I started to jog - (it sucks sometimes but hey no pain no gain). Aim to work out at least 5 days a week - it improves muscle tone - helps de-stress and burns calories!

The very worst case scenario is you won't loose 25lbs but you'll look and feel better! So I guess it's a win win situation!

Good luck!!!

It is absolutely possible to lose 25-30 lbs by Christmas. Now keeping that weight off is another story, but that can also be done if the person works hard enough.

Yes indeed, you've got 6 weeks to do it, have to skip Thanksgiving, maybe that's not a problem? I don't think its a good idea to crash diet and this fits my definition of a crash diet. I've found from my own experience that if your successful at reaching your goal you probably will gain it all back in a short time plus a little more.
What's worked for me is a slow weight loss, maybe a pound or two a month at most, good fitness program to raise your metabolism. It's taken me a little over 2 years to lose 30 pounds but the habits I've developed are for life, don't think its coming back this time. I worked hard at changing my eating habits, stay away from the crap fast foods, lots of salads and a balance of other foods. I hope you'll sit down and make a plan, maybe next year at this time you'll be at your goal and it will be a permanent loss. Good luck on what ever you decide to do

It is recomended by doctors that you don't lose more than two pounds per week, and it really takes a lot of excersize to lose that much. Skipping meals does not cause weight loss, but instead makes your body think it is starving, and causes it to store everything you put in your mouth. Unfortunately, at two pounds per week, you could only lose as much as twelve pounds by Christmas. If I were you, I might try something called phentramine - gives you awesome energy at the same time it keeps you from being hungry all the time when you cut callories. It's what I used after having my second child and it was awesome. I also used hydroxycut to get rid of my excess water.

sure its possible to lose 25-30 lbs by Xmas, but why your only going to put them back on again. how about you don't lose weight now then eat sensibly on Christmas. your going to start dieting and going to the Gym in the new year any way so why do it twice?. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Hello :)

I honestly don't think it's possible to lose THAT much weight in 6 weeks without causing serious and permanent damage to your health.

To diet and lose that much weight in so little time puts enormous strain on your heart and other organs.

Unless.....of course........you get liposuction or some form of surgery done! Then sure! LOL

If you've ever seen the shows on Discovery Health where people who are massively obese want to lose weight (even surgically) they can only do this by small increments because your body has to adjust. To drop that much weight very suddenly is very harmful to your health.

Even some of the diet plans that promise lots of weight loss fast, can't promise that much in that short of time. I'm sure you could lose 10 to 15 pounds though.

Try looking up information on the Southbeach diet or even Adkins but keep in mind that Adkins DOES have health risks if you have any type of heart, liver or kidney condition.

I lost 20 pounds in a little over a month by jogging 20 mins every other day and biking and walking on other days that I wasn't jogging. Drink water and not sodas and tea! Eat a healthy diet high in protein and veggies! Make sure to eat plenty of carbs when you are working out too! It's possible, just be your own personal trainer and don't give up! Millie

well lets see christmas is a lil over a month away...
I would have to say maybe. If you work hard and drink lots of water and eat healthy it might be possible but you have to disapline yourself and it will be hard.I'm trying to do that myself.I have lost 12 lbs but it has been a month and sad to say that sometimes these things just take time.
good luck.I'm gonna try to lose five lbs in a matter of lets see 6 days.I try to keep it simple like that, it makes the goal a lot more reachable.

YES! Low carb! No bread, rice, pasta, corn, carrots, potatoes, sugar, flour, corn starch. 64-80 oz. of water everyday. Exercise 30-45 minutes a day with cardio to get the heart pumping and fat burning. Multi vitamin WITHOUT iron. You will lose it before Christmas.

I lost 35 pounds during the holidays two years ago. So it is possible, but it is up to you to make a commitment.
