have lots of English friends, watch English television programmes with subtitles of your language , or your language television with subtitles in English , language tapes from the library that you can listen to as much as possible over and over again (even when sleeping ) language courses and lots of study..... these are the things i have done to live in Finland to learn Finnish language. and now after 4 years i am almost fluent with 2 bi-lingual children, having bi-lingual children helps too but not everybody can have that.... good luck and work hard

1. Watch television in English. Many people who have learned English well attribute it, in part, to American television.
2. Get a tutor. You can advertise in the newspaper if you don't have a friend who is willing or able to help.
3. Try to use English as much as possible in your normal life. Go out in public and try to use it. People are generally much more helpful that you would imagine, especially if you are trying to speak English.
Good luck!

Watch American tv. Especially the childrens shows and cartoons. That's the best way if you can't do full immersion.
