Fish is also a good source of protein that is low in fat. Whole wheat pasta is a good source of carbohydrates and fiber. All vegetables are nutritious, there are so many to mention that I can not even start. The only vegetable I would stay away from is iceberg lettuce because it is mostly water and fiberous material and has almost no nutritional value. A better substitute would be romaine lettuce or spinach leaves. Usually the darker green the vegetable the more nutritious. Blessings in your quest toward healthy eating!

Rice (preferably brown) and beans is one of the best possible food combinations to maximize healthy protein intake. It's also very low in fat and has lots of fiber. It tastes good, too, especially at a good Cuban restaurant.

I agree with the other answer, I'd round this meal off with broccoli. Leafy green vegetables are great for vitamins and also provide fiber, I believe.

For dessert, fresh fruit is good (more fiber and vitamins!), maybe with some yogurt to boost calcium. Yogurt is also a good way to fight off infections like yeast infections and urinary tract infections,.
