My dad was famous for his pickled eggs, I didn't like them. He said you need to remove the shell when pickling but never said why, I think it had to do with the egg rotting in the shell. Even though the shell is porous the brine doesn't get through it to pickle the inside enough to retard spoilage.

no longer possibly, nevertheless you ought to attempt wine. in case you're doing eggs with canned beets you need to use the beets liquid,or the liquid of and element that has been pickled in a can or jar. it is going to easily upload a touch distinctive flavour to the eggs. I often will reserve the liquid from ajar of pickled onions for pickling different issues. Any style of vinegar will do, I do white an malt vinegar onions every time i'm getting the small pickling onions.

no, you have to remove the shells so that the pickling liquid can penetrate and pickle the egg.

the vinegar will neutralize itself dissolving the calcium in the shell. It wont be potent enough to actually "pickle" the egg.
