Okay, my hair is about halfway between my shoulders and elbows, dark brown and very very straight. I want to curl it, for a new look, but it won't hold anything I try! Suggestions?! Thanks!

shampoo hair using the cheapest shampoo you can find (dollar store shampoo for oily hair) nothing with conditioners or for dry hair. rinse WELL. do not use conditioner. blow dry about 3/4 dry. apply a setting lotion spray or use 'working' hairspray. (at this point you need to decide weather to use cold rollers or curling iron/hot rollers)
brush thru. if you want cold rollers , put them in now.
continue blow drying until your hair is bone dry from roots to ends. take out rollers when cooled. finger comb only. spray.
to curl with heat:
place curling iron at the root (not on your head) and wrap the hair the first couple of turns around the iron; then turn iron while holding ends of hair. click the spring iron while turning so it doesn't get tangled.
spray, cool, finger comb, don't touch any more.

I truthfully have a similar issue...each time i decide to twist my hair i won't be able to because of the fact i comprehend that by ability of the time i'm getting carried out curling one area, the different area coming un-curled or in approximately an hour the curls have grew to become into waves. the only situation that works for me is previously mattress or hours previously I ought to pass someplace I do this: i wash my hair like regularly occurring, i positioned moose or styling gel or curling spray into my hair and artwork it in incredibly solid, then i take approximately an inch of hair and twirl it around my finger as though it have been a curling iron (you comprehend dont spiral it only form of wrap it up such as you're able to an electric powered twine or something) and use a bobby pin to pin it against my scalp and do this to all of my hair (that's recommended to apply better than one bobby pin for one and all) i the two sleep with it in or wait till my hair is thoroughly dry and take them out. this does not continuously artwork nevertheless. 8/10 situations it does nevertheless. specially circumstances i could ought to spray some water on the curls to flatten out stray or frizzy hairs. additionally, because of the fact it does not continuously artwork, i regularly do it at nighttime so if it sounds as though incredibly undesirable in the morning i will only wash it out. yet another answer is to in basic terms take a curling iron and swap your ends out. in case you curl it approximately 4 or 5 inches up your hair and carry it for about 20 seconds and enable go it will provide you a small curly turn on the tip of your hair that's my rapid answer to my hair not being waiting to hold an entire curl. desire this enables reason i comprehend the way you experience :)
