I had my hair highlighted and the girl said that the chemicals would work better since my hair was dirty versus just having washed it and then the chemicals would "slide right off" then it wouldn't stay as long.
But then again it's your choice. You should call her and ask her.

Hair has to be rinsed to stop the chemical from processing any more. Your stylist will shampoo and condition your hair after the color processing has finished. You may wash your hair whenever you feel its necessary.

don't wash your hair. i think it's best to not wash it 24 hours before getting it colored or highlighted.

highlights are done with dry hair .It does not matter if your hair is washed first or not.It will not hurt your hair to wash it first.Either way you will be fine.Good luck
