Q: Can I freeze cream cheese?

A: We do not recommend freezing cheese that will be used for spreading due to a possible change in its texture; it may become curdled in appearance and have a crumbly texture. Regular brick cream cheese can be frozen up to 2 months for use as an ingredient in recipes.

It's perfectly safe to freeze cream cheese, but it changes the consistency. Once thawed it's less creamy (kind of crumbly) and so is not as spreadable. It's okay to use in baking or whatever.

On a normal basis, it is not right to freeze cream cheese because it changes the consistency when it is defrosted and it not suitable for spreading.

Yes, It freezes very well and keeps for a long time. Just make sure to isolate it from the outside air of the freezer to prevent unwanted flavors from infusing into the icing.
