They should build the wall alone the same lines as the Great Wall of China.
Staff it with the battle hardened troops coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan for support of the Border Patrol.
Oh yeah, sorry could not think of one reason not to build it.

1. Cost -- a wire fence will stop nobody. And we are talking about thousands of miles of border. It would cost billions of dollars and not stop anyone from coming over the border. A more permanent barrier (e.g., Wall of China) would cost hundreds of billions of dollars.

2. Ineffective. Those who are coming to America do it for one reason -- economic opportunity. Even if they only get minimum wage (or less), that is literally ten times the earnings they can get in Mexico. They WILL figure out a way to get over the wall, regardless of its construction, so what is the point -- other than a feel-good "we are doing something" message come election time.

3. Less Expensive Alternatives. What can be done that would be less expensive and more effective? Answer: enforce existing laws on the books. If we started prosecuting AND JAILING employers who hire illegal immigrants, the problem will go away over night. Employers are smart. They are saving money, and increasing profits, by hiring illegal immigrants. Almost none are ever prosecuted, and those that are get a small fine (a cost of doing business). But if the employers are actually jailed, it will quickly end the problem. Those in suits find the idea of going to jail repugnant, and if they see one of their "buddies" in a prison jump suit, they will quickly change their ways.

1) History has shown that a physical wall is no deterrent to keeping out invaders, in this case illegal immigrants . For example. Hadrian's wall in England, the Great wall of China, The Maginot line in France, The Sigfried line etc

2) The money spent on building the wall and the cost incurred to the exchequer could instead be invested in Mexico in setting up industries and plants which will create more jobs for the common Mexican. Creation of jobs will address the problem at its root cause and thus lessen illegal imigration.

3) It creates unnecessary barriers between 2 friendly countries. Instead of looking at Mexico as a leading source of illegal immigration, the US could treat Mexico as a trading partner and further develop bilateral trade by opening border crossing and facilitating trade over land routes. This may only apply once point 2) has been in effect.

This is only my opinion as a neutral observer, I am neither a US nor Mexican citizen.

Why do you not do your own homework so that you may learn something? Have you made it a point to always leave your education up to others to do your homework? If you continue this way, you will graduate with no idea that it takes hard work to get what you want out of life.

As for those who are giving you answers, you will be contributing to her being in the welfare system, or she will not be able to get a job that will enable herself to support herself and will have to settle for a low paying job.

Shouldn't this be your work, and not that of strangers? Are you going to give credit for this input or plagarize it and claim it is yours?

Try putting your search engine to use and find editorials and articles online about this, it's been in the news frequently lately.

You'll get a lot more out of it, if you are the one that puts the work into it.

Good luck!
