I am a Christian. I've never owned a slave. I try very hard to be kind to everyone I meet. I've never been on a 'Crusade'. I have never gone into someone's home and killed them 'for Christ'. A lot of people profess to be Christians and say they are doing things in Jesus' name, but the evidence of their actions indicates that they are NOT following Jesus. There are bad apples in every group - there are those who profess to love God but their actions prove that they don't even have an inkling of Who God is. I guess I just want to know why people think that Christians are the cause of all evil.

see, i love the people that dont take time to realise that you just said "but the evidence of their actions they show they are not following Jesus" like kiki for example, she just goes on about how inmates are mostly christian (not counting ones that converted afterwards and the ones that are lying about it)

Christianity is an excuse for so many. If you do some research on penitentiary's around the world, you would realize that the majority of inmates are Christian or a denomination of it.

Of course there are bad apples in every group, but why do the bad apples outweigh the good?

I don't think that Christians are to blame for everything, I think they are to blame partially.

I wish there was no mass religions. Then they would actually mean something again. I am an atheist, with good reasons, and i'll continue on this path. No scripture (that is altered), and no people will sway me from my decision, I have done my research.

Those who hate Christians will say anything to demean our beliefs, no matter how ignorant it is. For some reason they use past ungodly things that "Christians" did to fuel their hate. Would it be okay for me to walk around and blame all white people for slavery? But it's okay for them to blame Christians for every atrocity that someone claiming to be a believer commits even though the Bible shuns that type of behavior.

Becasue of all the things done in the past by christians. OR done in the name of god by christians. Most people thin they are behind all the evil in the world becasue they (not saying you do) try to blame it on other people saying we had to do it becasue of what your pepople did! And people get mad about this so they in return blame it on the christians.

Just blame the muslims, we blame them for everything else. As for not owning a slave, you don't know what you're missing!

Jesus taught that his followers were not to take up the sword (or arms)

Matthew 22:52; "Return your sword to its place, for all those who take the sword will perish by the sword."

Isaiah 2:4: "And he will certainly render judgment among the nations and set matters straight respecting many peoples. And they will have to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war anymore."

I think because we see so many so-called Christian religious leaders helping and even blessing the wars and weapons and taking a stand in wars where Christians of one country kill Christians of another country, that sometimes we are lumped together with the ones who approve of such things . I can see where some might get the idea that Christian are a rather violent bunch. But the Bible teaches peace. Just as it says in Romans that we are not to take action even against our so-called enemies. God will take care of things in his own time. It is not for us to have any part of that.

Romans 12: 17- 21: "Return evil for evil to no one. Provide fine things in the sight of all men. 18 If possible, as far as it depends upon YOU, be peaceable with all men. 19 Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but yield place to the wrath; for it is written: “Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says Jehovah.” 20 But, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by doing this you will heap fiery coals upon his head.” 21 Do not let yourself be conquered by the evil, but keep conquering the evil with the good."

You are right, it is not the individual Christian that should be blamed, but rather any group or individual that does not follow closely in Jesus footsteps. The Bible said that you will know them by the fruit they produce, and by their actionsThere really is no middle road, there is one large road leading to distruction and one narrow and cramped road leading to life. It is very urgent and important to make sure of which road we are on.

Matthew 7: 13-23: “Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; 14 whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it.
15 “Be on the watch for the false prophets that come to YOU in sheep’s covering, but inside they are ravenous wolves. 16 By their fruits YOU will recognize them. Never do people gather grapes from thorns or figs from thistles, do they? 17 Likewise every good tree produces fine fruit, but every rotten tree produces worthless fruit; 18 a good tree cannot bear worthless fruit, neither can a rotten tree produce fine fruit. 19 Every tree not producing fine fruit gets cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Really, then, by their fruits YOU will recognize those [men].
21 “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23 And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness."

There was evil before Christianity was invented...

No. Christ-ianity is about "Christ": the end of the law(evil): No more enmity nor any blame when there is no law: John 5:45. So if you're claiming to be Christ-ian and still law imputing sin and death for the hell of it, then you're playing the legalistic blame game that also inducts you into a hall of shame, not fame.

In Christ there's no bad apples, because there's no law.
You only get bad apples by resurrecting law, to accuse.
And thereby you become legalistic: accuser of brethren.
You only get criminals by the law. No criminals in grace.
You only get crime via the law. There's no crime in grace.
So the sooner you flush your law, sooner no more terror.
For Moses' law the "great terror"-ist in Deuteronomy 34.

If you pride yourself on being a child of God, then you haven't heard the higher exhortation to "be no more children", since children get tossed to and fro by winds(spirits) of doctrine.

Children differ nothing from servants(slaves) who "know not" what their Master doeth. So children of God are perhaps children of Law, for the only true God: Grace has neither kids nor children, but a son. And so the higher exhortation is: thou art no more a servant(child), but a son(man). Yet even a son has to be made perfect to be a perfect man like Christ is. For the evidence makes it evident no "man" is justified by the law in the sight of God; no, not even Jesus.

It's all allegory and the allegoric moral is grow up: grow in grace, by put away your law law, for the 2nd is like the 1st in Mt 22:36-40, and in Rom 8 law law the 1st is sin & death.

As for professing to be "Christ"-ian, Christ-ianity is not about Jesus, but rather about "Christ". For peace with God is flat out stated as being "through Jesus->Christ" which ends with "Christ": "the end of the law"(Rom 10:4), not with "Jesus": "made under the law".

So the exhortation, to bewitched churches, is: "ye are not under the law(Jesus), but under grace(Christ)", and further clarity about such is "if led of the Spirit".

Jesus: "division" & not peace: Mt 10:34; Lk 12:51...Law
Christ: "peace" & not divided: Jn 14:27; Eph 2:14...Grace
To wit: that God was in "Christ" RECONCILING the world
(Sadly many so-called Christians are in Jesus alienating)

Jesus: made under the law, and of woman
Christ: the end of the law, and of transgression
Pst - Ye are not under the law, but under grace

In Jesus: law imputed sin, death, and hell
In Christ: no law = no sin = no death nor hell
Pst - in Christ there is no condemnation(law)

Jesus: standing right of God on high in plural divided heavens
Christ: seated right of God in heaven: higher than the heavens
Col 3: if ye be risen with "Christ", then set(sit) "above" with Christ

So don't say you're a Christ-ian, then profess you're a Jesus-ian, for such C->J is as going bwd thru the cross to dead end law. The way that leadeth unto life(only) is "through" J->C; For JC is the only foundation laid, but the fwd progession is Jesus->Christ. Jesus is three things: babe->child->man. Christ is one thing: perfect man. And being made perfect (by abolition of law) Christ is the author of "eternal salvation". And eternal salvation is notably "through Jesus->Christ" (not thru Christ->Jesus).

So for Christ's sake (Eph 4) stop law imputing sin and death for the hell of it. Stop being awful lawful. Start being more grace us.

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.
