the cops will come and do an investigation, but you just thinking you know who did it won't help at all. this is a lost case

In our city we do not really do much to those who throw things out of cars. Which really is a shame cause you never know what they might throw next. You can make a report of the incident and at least notify them that way if it happens again then maybe they can do more about it.

Did you actually "see" the person damaging your house? Or did you hear noises, went to check and see a car speeding away? I'd report it, but don't accuse unless you're positive...

Throwing an object from a moving vehicle is a felony in most states. The object could become a deadly weapon if it hits some innocent person out on the street.
