i know the second picture was definitely taken by an ordinary digital camera, but does anyone know the kind of camera that took the first? and is it digital?

It's impossible to say what camera it was taken without EXIF information. It could be any camera! Chances are since it is on myspace, it's digital. Not too many young people are into scanning 35mm film. It could easily be the same camera. What makes you think it's the camera that's different? The pics are in completley different light, background, composition etc. It could easily be the same camera!
