I do not think you're doing anything wrong. God knows everything; and he knows your heart... I truly believe when you pray and use his name, that he knows you're not disrespecting his son (Jesus)... personally, everything that I pray for I end "in Jesus name"; and I know that ONLY through God's son, I am granted all... very good question, but, don't beat yourself up over... God knows your heart!

I don't know whether you have to or not, use Jesus' name in prayer. But, I do. And it doesn't go against the first commandment. We aren't acknowledging that Jesus is higher than God. We just say "In Jesus' name," at the end of our prayer, to signify that what we are praying is in line with His Word. Because if what you pray isn't in line with God's Word, it will not be answered. It is not a sin to bring Jesus into prayer, because he IS the way, the truth and the life. I would actually consider it to be great to say "in Jesus' name", at the end of prayer(before you say amen), because that's showing God that you agree your prayer should only be answered if it's in line with His Word.

Using Jesus name in a prayer is not praying TO him (altough technically Jesus and God are the same thing, that commandment was referring to Lucifer, and the Nephilim (sp?)). It's praying to God, but using "in Jesus name" is sort of a hope that God will answer your request. Because Jesus was his son, when you pray in Jesus' name, he will do it out of respect to the name because it would be like Jesus asking him the same thing. It's hard to explain...but hopefully that made sense.
Saints are a different issue.

1. Yes you should utilize the name of Jesus in your prayers (John 14:13-14) & (John 16 23-24)
2. No you are not breaking the first commandment. (John 17:11)
I hope you are spirit filled, if not pray to God to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit he will lead and guide you into all truths. (John 16:1-15) I hope this will help you, but remember always pray and ask God to give you wisdom and understanding. AND BELEVE ME HE WILL

firstly, jesus is not God but he is the lord, don't get me wrong, he is God but he has a different mission and personality which is to forgive us and save us from our sin through his blood. but rather he is God's son, jesus said, i am the way the truth aand the life no one comes to the father except through me, this means that u will accept and beleive in jesus first before u have that personal relationship with God. u have to use jesus name because God said that through jeus name can we cast out devil so we definitely have to use the name of jesus because God and jesus have different personalities but at the same time they are one if u remember, GOD the father, God the son, God the holyspirit make up the holytrinity. if u look, u'll see that they are all Gods but but they have different functions but they are all connected.i oppose the fact of bringing the name of saints because God is a jealous God , he wants us to pray through God, jesus and the holyspirit and no one else. if u need more clarification u can email me.

Jesus came to this earth as the Son of God, that means Jesus is God.

Trinity [is] the term by which is expressed the unity of three Persons in the one God. The Christian doctrine is: That there is only one God, one divine nature and being. This one divine Being is tripersonal, involving the distinctions of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are joint partakers of the same nature and majesty of God.

that is a serious thought, and i will admit i was expecting some evolutionist question. i believe that bringing in God, Jesus, and The Holy Spirit is acceptable. it says that God is 3-in-1 or triune this i believe means that we are allowed and even expected to bring all three into our prayers
God bless

listen just beacuse god and jesus are difrerent people that doesnt mean that u cant pray for jesus remeber god is the almighty , if u dishonor god u wont go to heaven but if u dishonor jesus he will forgive u u can pray for jesus for forgiveness as for god u idolise him and no other god just god and only god when god said he will get jeolous beacuse u are praying for another god it beacuse back in the days when men will build house they prayed on wood beacuse they had a house, like animals if u kill them they pray for that animal for giving food for them, remember god is about idolising him and jesus is for forgiveness ,and when jesus said only through me u can enter god heavens it means go trough jesus first and he will forgive u or not to enter god heavens ,remember jesus went to hell to bring back those souls that went to hell beacuse he died for their sins not ours. we are the ones to watch out for one another, and for the comandments don't worry god is not going to punish u for praying for jesus.

YES , GOD IS A JEALOUS GOD MEANING HE WANTS EXCLUSIVE DEVOTION FROM US AS HUMAN BEINGS.WE ARE IMPERFECT DUE TO ADAMS TRANSGRESSION IN THE GARDEN OF EDEN ,ADAM WAS A PERFECT MAN AND TO MAKE MATTERS GOOD AGAIN SOMETHING PERFECT HAD TO BE SACRIFICED . THATS WHY GOD SENT HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON TO EARTH TO GIVE HIS LIFE A SACRIFICE FOR US SO WE AGAIN COULD COME INTO A GOOD STANDING BEFORE GOD. JESUS IS NOT GOD BUT GODS SON AND HE ALSO PRAYED TO HIS FATHER ON MANY OCASIONS. BUT THE ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION YOU WILL FIND IN JOHN 14: VERSE 6 AND 14 .AND THIS COMES FROM JESUS HIMSELF, THE SON OF GOD. "VERSE 6 SAYS: "JESUS SAID TO THEM:"I AM THE WAY AND THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE. " NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH ME.
AND VERSE 14 SAYS : IF YOU ASK ANYTHING IN MY NAME , I WILL DO IT". SO ALL OUR PRAYERS NEED TO GO THROUGH THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST IN ORDER FOR GOD TO HEAR THEM. AN IMPORTANT THING IS ALSO TO USE THE NAME OF GOD. IN THE MODEL PRAYER, JESUS SAYS "LET YOUR NAME BE SANCTIFIED" . HOW CAN YOU SANCTIFY SOMEONES NAME IF YOU DONT KNOW IT.
YOU CAN FIND HIS NAME IN PSALM 83:18 ....IT IS "YHWH "BUT THIS IS HARD TO PRONOUNCE,AND THE MORE ACCEPTED FORM IS YAHWE OR JEHOVAH .
AND NO YOU WILL NOT VIOLATE GODS LAW OR THE 10 COMMANDMENTS, WE ARE NO LONGER UNDER THE LAW OF THE 10 COMMANDMENTS THEY WENT OUT OF EFFECT BY THE RANSOM SACRIFICE THAT JESUS GAVE WITH HIS LIFE. BUT THE PRINCIPLES ARE STILL VALID , THE LAW CAN BE COMPRISED INTO TWO LAWS WHICH IS "YOU MUST LOVE YOUR GOD WITH YOUR WHOLE HEART" AND "YOU MUST LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOUR AS YOURSELF" . IF YOU KEEP THESE TWO PRINCIPLE LAWS , YOU WILL FARE WELL.JOHN 13:34,35 SAYS: JESUS SAID "I AM GIVING YOU A NEW COMMANDMENT, THAT YOU LOVE ONE ANOTHER; JUST AS I HAVE LOVED YOU, THAT YOU ALSO LOVE ONE ANOTHER. BY THIS ALL WILL KNOW THAT YOU ARE MY DISCIPLES , IF YOU HAVE LOVE AMONG YOURSELVES.". HOWEVER YOU MUST UNDERSTAND THAT THE TRUE GOD CAN READ OUR HEARTS , WHICH MEANS THAT EVEN IF WE DONT PRAY IN JESUS NAME , BUT ARE SINCERE , HE WILL SEE IT, AND WILL GUIDE HIS ANGELS TO YOU TO HELP YOU UNDERSTAND HIS PURPOSES. LOOK ALSO IN THE BOOK OF LUKE CHAPTER 11VERSE 9,10: " ACCORDINGLY I SAY TO YOU, KEEP ON ASKING, AND IT WILL BE GIVEN YOU; KEEP ON SEEKING AND YOU WILL FIND;KEEP ON KNOCKING AND IT WILL BE OPENED TO YOU. FOR EVERYONE ASKING RECEIVES, AND EVERYONE SEEKING FINDS AND TO EVERYONE KNOCKING IT WILL BE OPENED."
I HOPE THAT THIS HAS ANSWERED YOUR QUESTIONS AND IF IN NEED YOU ARE WELCOME TO CONTACT ME.
