If you are looking for a scripture with the word "rapture" in it, you will not find one. The word does not appear in the Bible. It is a theological term applied to the belief that Christians will be removed to heaven before the coming of the anti-christ. While there are scriptures used to support the belief, the word itself does not appear. It comes from a Bible word that means "joy" or "blessing". It is sometimes called the "blessed hope".
Most common scripture used for a "pre-tribulation" rapture is 2Thessalonians 2:3,4 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
The "falling away" mentioned in this scripture is taught to be the rapture. Compare with 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, the scripture most often used to show there will be a rapture (but does not specifically say when in the timeline).
Also if you read the book of Revelations, John writes seven letters to the churches of his time, dictated by Jesus, that are interepreted to stand for seven "eras" in the Christian church. After that in chapter 4, John is taken up to heaven and witness the tribulation and the coming of the anti-christ from there. It is taught that this is the rapture. John (as a representative of the church) is taken to heaven before the anti-christ comes.
While there are other scriptures, these are the most commonly used ones.

The reason you can't find the verses is because they don't exist. The rapture will happen at the end of the world when Jesus comes in glory. There will be no secret coming - he will come on a cloud and there will be trumpets and the heavenly hosts (angels) will be with him. He will take the righteous with him, and the evil will be cast into hell... end of story.
The idea of a pre-tribulation rapture was made up by American Evangelicals in the nineteenth century and has spread like wildfire because of the ease by which people are led into error in this country. People want what's easy (to escape the tribulation), but it's not going to happen. Read church history - nobody ever heard of this idea before 1800 A.D.
Happy searching!

The rapture is a term created by American Christians referring to an event before, during, or after their prophesied 'Great Tribulation'.
It is mentioned several times throughout the bible. The most frequently quoted verses are found in 1st Thessalonians 4:16-18
Another supposed rapture reference is an enigmatic quote by Paul in 1st Corinthians 15:50-54
The idea of the rapture was used as a literary device in the book Left Behind.
It is commonly described as the 'faithful' Christians being physically removed from earth and called to heaven so that they are not left to face the last days of earth.

As you asked, Here's your back-up:
Events of the Rapture
The Lord Himself will descend from His Father's house, where He is preparing a place for us (John 14:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:16).
He will come again to receive us to Himself (John 14:1-3)
He will resurrect those who have fallen asleep in Him (deceased believers whom we will not precede -- 1 Thessalonians 4:14-15).
The Lord will shout as He descends ("loud command," 1 Thessalonians 4:16 NIV). All this takes place in the "twinkling of an eye" (1 Corinthians 15:52).
We will hear the voice of the archangel (1 Thessalonians 4:16).
We will also hear the trumpet call of God (1Thessalonians 4:16), the last trumpet for the church.
The dead in Christ will rise first (the corruptible ashes of their dead bodies are made incorruptible and joined together with their spirits, which Jesus brings with Him -- 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).
Then we who are alive and remain will be changed (or made incorruptible by having our bodies made "immortal" -- 1 Corinthians 15:51,53.)
We will be caught up (raptured) together (1 Thessalonians 4:17).
We will be caught up in the clouds (where dead and living believers will have a monumental reunion -- 1 Thessalonians 4:17).
We will meet the Lord in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:17).
Christ will receive us to Himself and take us to the Father's house "that where I am, there you may be also" (John 14:3).
"And so we shall always be with the Lord" (1 Thessalonians 4:17).
At the call of Christ for believers, He will judge all things. Christians will stand before the judgment seat of Christ (Romans 14:10; 2 Corinthians 5:10), described in detail in 1 Corinthians 3:11-15. This judgment prepares Christians for....
The marriage of the Lamb. Before Christ returns to earth in power and great glory, He will meet His bride, the church, and the marriage supper will take place. In the meantime, after the church is raptured, the world will suffer the unprecedented outpouring of God's wrath, which our Lord called "the great tribulation" (Matthew 24:21).
Revelations will explain more.... The first part of the Tribulation will consist of a period when the Antichrist comes on the scene and conquers the world through diplomacy. Then the breaking of the seventh seal will introduce the seven trumpet judgments, which will cause great catastrophes to come to earth. When Satan indwells Antichrist in the middle of the Tribulation, that introduces the last 1260 days or 3 1/2 years, which is the "great tribulation." Refer to Dr. Tim Layaye and Dr. Thomas Ice's "Getting a Clear Picture of the Last Days" book.
Additionally: Christ's second coming is mentioned at least 49 times by the Hebrew prophets and at least 15 times in the New Testament.

The sudden transportation of the perfected saints,of those who have slept in Christ and those who are alive in Christ to heaven is known as the "Rapture" . This will take place at the "secret" coming of the Lord Jesus Christ . ( 1 Thess. 4 : 16 & 17 ).
