My boyfriend considers his ex to be his "best friend." She pops in and out, using him and hurting him. I know he loves me, and i love him. But i found out two days ago that in the last week and a half, hes seen her 3 times. One time, i called and was going to go see him, and he just flat out said no. I didnt think anything of it, and he didnt really give me an excuse. He was with her. He wasnt planning on telling me. He also wears a "promise" ring she gave him. I told him that the only way to have a future with me was to forget his past with her, and he refused to take it off. Finally after packing a bag and telling him i was leaving, he took it off. I just cant deal with her being such a huge influence. Am i over reacting? I dont want to put myself between them, because he and i have enough trust to remain friends with ex's. But when it comes to him lying to me...not ok...I just dont know how i can trust him again.

This is an easy one. Why not imagine that you had a daughter your age and that it was she not you, that was involved with your bf. What advice would you tell her? Simple isn't it?

You know what to do. Love is not a competition.

You did the right thing in packing up and preparing to leave. But he's going to have to give the girl up. It's not about your insecurities. It's about his still being attached to the other girl -- emotionally or otherwise. Would you still be holding on to your ex and be in a relationship with this dude? He's double dipping.

if u trust him, why are u worried? that is the question you need to ask yourself.... and you are right to a degree, lying is not going to make a relationship work... and he does need to be honest and just tell the truth, but he shouldn't spend that much time, surely...
