Not necessary. What you excrete is mostly bacteria. If you are starting a system off a single handful of ordinary ground soil will do. Do not put yeast into an operating system. If you do the CO2 produced by the yeast may force sewage back into the house under gas pressure. Putting enzyme treatments into operating systems is a waste of money.

If the system is smelling it is overloaded, needs pumping or the aerobic disposal is flooded or has saturated the soil.

A garbage disposal is a good way to overload a septic system. So is connecting the laundry or shower to the system. It best to connect only the toilet and make other arrangements for kitchen, laundry and shower waste water.

God or evolution,"whatever floats your boat" already made the bacteria and you put it in there when you use it.
Chemicals or grease will kill it and that can lead to REAL trouble.
