I think that waiting till 29-30 is good, it gives you time to grow up first.

I agree with you! I had my first daughter at 32 and my next daughter at the age of 35. I am glad that I waited

I was 28yrs old when I had my little girl. I think that was a great age to have a child, but having one earlier doesnt mean you arent grown up already. There are people who NEVER grow up, others who grow up very fast... one problem with waiting till you are older to have children is that you can be very set in your ways. Also with spacing your children apart, if you wait till you are 30 to have your first, and would like 3, then you are sorta faced with having them very close together. I agree though, waiting till at least 25yrs old is a good idea.

My children were born when I was 24 and 26. I love my kids and wouldn't want them any differently than they are. But if I could have had them a few years later, I think it would've been a good choice. I would have liked to have had a few more years to save up some money, have a career, and in general, just have become more financially stable.

I think great parents come in all shapes and sizes. My sister is one of the best mothers I know and she became a mother at 21. Meanwhile, my other sister is just becoming a mother at the age of 35. You do what works best for you.

I think each person is different. I had my first at 23. I was already kinda laid back and a homebody. I wasn't where I should be financially. I think you should wait until youre not selfish anymore. It's a good thing. Finish traveling, working 60 hour weeks, partying, whatever you want then have kids. Some people never do these things some people do them until they are 35. Just make sure it's what ya want. There's no return/exchange policy!!

40!

I had my first and only child 2 months after I turned 40. It wasn't that I had planned to have children later in life, I just didn't meet the right man to marry and have children with until I was in my late 30's.

I feel that whatever I lost in energy I gained in experience and patience. I was lucky though that my child was born healthy because having a first child at my age did mean a greater risk of chromosome-related defects such as Down's Syndrome.

I had been on the pill just about all my reproductive life. I went off the pill and three months later was pregnant. Again, I was lucky that I didn't have fertility issues.

I am happy to have lead a full, adventurous life before settling down. There was never a night when I wished I was out somewhere partying, instead of being home with my child. I never missed out on anything due to having a child, I just gained immeasurably.

I was 34 when I had my first and 35 when I had my second. I don't regret waiting until I was older. My husband and I were very secure - good job for him, house, etc. We also had a blast the first part of marriage - we were married 8 years when the first baby came along. The only thing I regret is that we felt rushed into trying for baby number two due to our ages.

My first - 20

...but she will probably be my last... if I do have another child, I plan on waiting until I am at least 25. This wasn't a planned pregnancy (but, yes, I am married and have been married for a year and a half). I plan to get a 5 year IUD after she is born... just so there won't be any more surprises quite so soon.

I had my first at 20 and my second at 22. After getting divorced and re-married I had another at 32. It is so much different this time. Better in many ways. I dont regret having my first two so young, but I agree waiting a few years would probably be better.
