Natasha,

A king bed is larger. The actual dimensions are 76" wide by 80" long. A queen size is 60" wide by 80". The other less popular alternative is a California King which measures 72" wide by 84" long; this is usually great for taller individuals. Good Luck!

Queens are 6ft wide Kings are 5ft wide EDIT : I have just checked and it all depends whether in US or UK. In UK, Queens are bigger, in US Kings are bigger hence why all the confusion on here.
