It got splashed in the ocean while walking along the beach. Battery went dead, camara wouldn't turn on. Tried reading the memory card in another person's camara and it said " couldn't read" Gag!!!! I hope some IT person has some clues because it had all our holiday pics on it............

Not knowing what type of memory card you have makes it hard to offer much help. Have you cleaned the memory cards contacts? Salt water is pretty conductive and corrosive. You might consider washing the card in distilled water before ruining someone Else's camera. CF cards have been put through washing machines and still been able to be read.

well, its gone- its dead- can't retrieve it back. you know electronics, u want no water on it-- uh aahhh
