This morning, I noticed tapeworms in my foster-puppy's stool. I got a couple of Droncit tabs from my vet and gave them to her this morning. How long should it take for the medication to start working? While I doubt the dead worms will come shooting wildly from her behind in a fantastic display of the medicine's effectiveness, I'd kinda like to know what to expect :D

The worms will die within hours.Don't expect to see them, though.Although some dogs will pass them in their stool, others absorb them and so you won't necessarily see any in the dogs stool.Make sure to treat the pup for fleas as well or she will just get the tapeworms back,as they are spread by fleas.Good luck and bless you for fostering the puppy.

Usually you'll see results within 12 to 24 hours. The dead worms should appear in the dog's stool during that period, and may continue to appear for another day or two.

It's always advisable to use the wormer once, then repeat the treatment in 2 weeks to make sure all of the worms are killed.

My dog threw up 3 hours after taking tapeworm tablets, is that a problem and should I get more?
