my ex and i are really close friends and we have been for a long while now, but recently (like last night) i was chatting to him and he was really short with me and a bunch of stuff and im mad/pissed off at him. how do i make him notice, the silent treatment doesnt work with him and if i ignore him he ignores me back and that doesnt solve anything! please help guys, what makes you wanna know whats wrong?

He doesn't seem concerned with you as friend or even as an ex gf. If you're not worth his time, why should he be worth yours? It's not hard for a guy to tell when a friend is mad with them. Regardless of how inherently "macho" they are. We are humans, and we were all born with certain instincts. If you don't talk to him for 3 years, I think he will eventually understand why. It's his loss if he didn't care enough about your feelings to occasionally ask how you are doing. Just find someone else (another guy) to take up your time in the mean time. Its better to get even than to get jealous. It certainly makes me feel better.

You could take the straight forward approach and tell him that your mad. That would probably be the best thing. The sooner he knows the better you'll feel.

Don't play that game. I know I am a female but trust me doing this is not going to get you anywhere.. Just flat out tell him you are upset with him and why.

Maybe in your case your ex isn't supposed to be a close friend.
Let it alone and if he misses talking to you he knows how to contact you.
When you keep picking at something you just make it worse.

U wanna let ur guy kno u'r pissed off...feed on his jealousy, roam with two, three other guys and ignore him completely...that'll get him seething...
