How would you like to have a whale's peepee stuck in you? If she by chance got pregnant she would die from carrying the puppies. Her body wouldn't be able to hold the large puppies. Either another Chihuahua or equally smaller breed would be good but not a great dane!

B**ches do sometimes die attempting to give birth to puppies which are too large. In your question you give the two extremes in size - a Chihuahua and a Great Dane but a b**ch of any breed can have difficulty giving birth even to pure bred puppies if she is particularly small and the pups are big.
Sometimes there might be only one pup i.e. a singleton and that one pup develops more rapidly because it is getting all the nourishment that a whole litter should be getting. It might become so big that the only way to save it and the mother is by a Cesarean.
The size of the puppies which you ask about would only be guesswork but if a pup is too large to pass through the mother's pelvis then the result would be fatal without veterinary intervention.
I know that yours is a hypothetical question but you would be surprised at the lack of knowledge some people have when they decide to breed a litter. There are so many things that can go wrong before, during and after the birth.
People who breed responsibly will have done their homework and at least be aware of the problems.

To be honest I'm not sure that this is possible ... I've thought about her standing on a chair but still can't get my head around it.
The other way around with a male Chihuahua raises even more weird thoughts ... the poor little lad would need a stepladder at the very least.
I don't think this mix would be possible, even with ai - the puppies would be just too big for the little Chihuahua girl. She wouldn't be able to birth them normally as their heads would be too big to pass through her pelvic bones.
I'm not sure why anyone would want to mix them anyway ... aren't there already enough beautiful breeds & crossbreeds & mongrels in the world already?

It's probably because as a mature and sexually intact female, she outranks him and she wants him to know it. She's probably making a point of it because he's bigger than she is and she doesn't want to fight. She and the pit have worked out their rankings other ways. It's rarely a symptom of illness; this is social domination, dog-style. It may have been triggered by the move and the new baby, but it's not abnormal behavior. And I assume I don't have to tell you to never leave the infant anywhere with any of the dogs, unless there is an adult human present who can control the dog(s).

The puppy would be the size of a chawowa with great dane features. Not a good idea really as the puppy might not be strong enough to cope with the features of a great dane e.g fast running

The Chihuahua would have great difficulty. If pregnancy ensued, the pup would most likely have to be surgically removed before it finished developing because the Chi's body would not hold it or sustain it. The premature fetus would then most likely die...
We're hoping this is just a hypothetical question on your part and that you're not really stupid enough to pursue a pregnancy of this sort.

I could be any size from large to regular size depending on the gene mix it carried. The mating might be a bit of a problem though, and if the pups were large it could kill the mother.

Please re-assure us all that you are NOT planning on doing this to the poor dogs. Get them altered instead, and save the lives of a number of puppies. The Chi would most likely die from stress because she could have up to ten pups and that would kill her. Or, she would die from the mating process itself. You really have no idea what you are doing and you are just producing mutts on purpose. Why? Think about it.

the female gene would limit the size of the pups so as not to hurt the *****. The conception would be impossible though, unless you use a Turkey baster
