In another question, you posed as your mother asking about her son crying after church. You seem to feel like you have no control over your life. Talk to a counselor at school. You may be depressed and need some help.

No, it is not normal at all. It sounds like an anxiety attack or a passing hysteria.
Can I just take a whack at a response? There is a syndrome called "separation anxiety." Usually we see this in children when dad leaves for work, or the child is droped off at day care.
Here's my guess: mom is deaply committed to the church and "the Christain life," and you are a rationalistic kid, probably with a bit of the maveric in you that dogs most rationalists. You dislike and reject your mother's views, and this threatens to separate you from the person in your life who is (whether you realize it or not) nearest and dearest figure you have. It causes emense feelings of threat of separation and sadness.
You are also finding your way into sexuality, and every thirteen-year-old boy feels the development of a secret part of himself, often is intensely ashamed of what is perfectly normal but new and sometmes frightening.
Look, you are a bright kid. These things only happed to the intelligent and perceptive. You can get out of this all by yourself. Talk to yourself about your life, and listen to your voice. Look for patterns of concern, see what bothers you, what makes you proud and happy what has the reverse effect. Listen to yourself, to your own inner voice and you will find where the hole in the roof is located and you'll see how to patch it and keep the rain out of your life. You have to be intelligent to get into this situation, and that same intelligence will get you out.
Keep the chin up there and good luck and a peaceful landing to you, little guy.

being a religious person, i have to ask; do you think the reason you got upset was because of something that was said at church and you just haven't realized it yet? God deals with each of us in different ways. Oh, and it's ok to cry even if that's not what's going on. Men don't show their feelings enough as it is and that's not healthy, which leads to stress and heart attacks.

Sure it's normal. It's normal for anyone to cry, at any moment.
As you said, you probably started crying from all of the stress you had that week, so you kinda have a breakdown (WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY FINE! and healthy).
You're actually lucky that you were able to let all that out, unline some of us, we keep stress bottled inside.
So don't hide from it, embrace it.

you said you hate church with a passion. i'm sure you feel a lot of guilt and pressure (even if you're not aware of it) because your parents want you to be a believer, or chirstian, or church-goer, or whatever word you want to use. all this pressure builds up, and has to be released, so it came out suddenly with tears. the most important thing is for you to know that there is nothing wrong with you. just as you get older, do your best to try and get in touch with your feelings, without judging. just try to become aware. best of luck...
