Thailand is beautiful! Shopping in most areas is great, markets and up-market malls. I agree with the previous answer, you can get clothes made cheaply and of good quality. If you've got a piece you really like, take it along with you and most places will make up an excellent copy.
One of the best things about Thailand is the people, friendly, polite and helpful. Koh Samui is a great mix of beaches, jungle, resorts, diving and shopping. It's about an hour from Bangkok by plane and worth visiting.
Northern Thailand is also beautiful. Plenty to see and do, a brilliant travel destination.

Best Place in Thailand? That depends on what you would like to do and how long are you staying there. There are so many places to see. Get yourself a travel guide to Thailand and have a look. If you are only staying in Bangkok then going on a day tour in the surrounding area is worthwhile. Bangkok itself will offer you more than enough shopping, food, entertainment and nightlife.
Clothes is cheap there but do shop around - as there are many many places to get them. Ready made clothes you head to Pratunam market or the Chattuchak weekend market or the Lumpini night Bazaar. But even the MBK shopping Centre can give you good prices if you are ready to haggle when you buy several items. You can also get clothes made to measure for very good price.

its cheaper to have your clothes made then to buy ready to wear all of thailand is good depends if you want beach,mountains or the city
