I'm not exactly sure where A630 falls in your budget, but consider this recommendation.

Consumer Reports for November 2006 has ranked the Canon Powershot A620 as the best compact digital camera. It is becoming almost a legend for longevity at the top of various consumer lists. It looks like this model has been replaced by the A630, which I would expect to be just as popular. The A640 appears quite similar and shares the "600" series numbering, so I guess it's just another upgraded version of the now-classic A620. It looks pretty much the same except for baing a 10 MP camera. The continuous drive is a little slower, but the files are larger, so that's no surprise. I own a few Nikon DSLR's and I'd buy the Canon A630 or A640 for myself.

With this camera, you will find the memory card is a cute little token of thanks from Canon, but not much more. Buy a 1 GB Sandisk Ultra II or Extreme III card. You will NEED the increased capacity and write speed to fully realize the benefits of your camera.

If you want to trim the budget a little, the Canon Powershot A430, A530 or A540, are all great choices. You will need a decent memory card, though. I'd say get at least 512 MB.

I've just bought a Canon A530 for £95 (5m pixels/video and sound). Its around £170 or more in the high street. I recommend Amazon.co.uk. They do free delivery with orders over £15. I find Amazon offers high spec digital cameras for the same price as the lower or older models currently in shops. And the reviews are very helpful.

Well... for 110 pounds... I am not sure how much it would equal in USD, but I can tell u a good digital camera which would take photos with high pixel rate and video clips. I have always trusted Sony brand in this case and I would suggest DSC P 600 for 6MP photos and upto 3 min video. Usually 2 MP/3 MP photos are enough for 8x10 photos, 6 MP is too good for 11x14 and larger ones. It has a good enough LCD with easy to use buttons and settings. Moreover I like SOny b'coz they are easy to use and easy to move ur videos and photos to ur computer. I recently gifted this camera to my relatives for holidays.

Don't go to cheap, and don't be fooled by high megapixels. A good lens on a camera is more important than megapixels.
