Oh, my sister, I totally feel you here. A few months back, I tried a different brand than what I normally use and my hair did the same thing turned the darkest shade of brown you've ever seen in your life! So, I decided to go with it....but then a few weeks ago, I decided I wanted to lighten it up a bit and switched back to my old color and brand and boy what a mistake! My roots turned brownish-red and the rest of my hair was...almost black. Even. After. Washing. So I did what any sensible person would do - consulted a professional. Putting chemicals on your hair isn't ever good for it - much less doing it too often. I was afraid that if I put another color over it again (even going darker) that I would fry my hair. The girl I saw at the salon said that you should never attempt to lighten your hair at home - it almost always turns either ORANGE or GREEN because of the undertones. She lightened my hair in two different stages and put GOBS of conditioner on it afterwards. Fortunately, she didn't burn my hair and it now looks great.
So my advice - truly, consult with a professional. It's worth the money you'll pay if you care about your hair.

If you dye your hair too often, it will become brittle and could fall out, so my advice would be to wait two days and then pluck up the courage to go to a reputable hairdresser. If you can't afford that then get a semi permanent dye which will condition your hair such as Belle Colour or L'Oreal or Nutrisse in a dark chestnut colour (rich brown).
Always read the instructions first, it sounds to me like your first mistake was to leave the colouring solution on too long.

I have done this myself tried to dye my very dark brown hair blonde and it went a horrible red and I just went out and bought a home dye in a natural dark brown and it covered it completely so don't worry as you can cover it up completely with a permanent dye.

in the future when you dye your hair dark brown, know that it will always look black until you wash it once or twice. when i recently dyed my hair back to dark brown, it looked BLUEblack until i washed it a good couple of times!
as for the orange now, go to the hairdressers to make sure. but i recomend re-dying it dark brown and waiting a couple of washes. it should really tone down the orange and turn your hair into a nice brown. i still say ask a hairdresser first though!
good luck.

Try to get your hair bleached at a hair salon or go to the hair salon and ask they what you should do. You dont want to take the wrogn advice and end up with orange hair that wont go away for a year. My best advice is go to the hair salon and ask them what to do, or see if they can fix the problem.
And next time dont die your hair just leave it alone and let it take it course. lol
Good luck

i would try getting a blonding shampoo to get rid of as much of the colour as u can so it lightens the hair, then maybe get a base shade 6 from ur local sallys store, or even go in and ask them for advise as they are really helpfull.
hope this help!

the only way to fix it the right way is to go to a hair dresser. I know that if you go to a hair school it is cheaper cause a hair dresser usually charges about $75-$90 just to dye hair.
