Plants do use CO2 , but I highly doubt that it purifies the air enough to not worry about the smoke. Also , need to know is that plants have their own mold spores that are released into the air. So if you have allergies- you may want to know this.

If the plants smoke a lot of cigarettes they can mask human body odour particularly well.
