All joking aside, I've often wondered if computer-generated lotteries could be won by knowing the make and model of the computer they're using. Keeping track of several days' worth of data, I wonder if it would be possible to discover the algorithm used to seed the random number table and to use this to find the next location within the chip. (This, I believe, is why they still use balls. Balls also make it harder to cheat because any manipulation is readily seen when the numbers are drawn.)
