Matthew 27:5 says that Judas Iscariot when he died he hung himself. Acts 1 says that 'no' he jumped off a cliff head first.

Any explainations to this? Which method did he died?

Thanks

According to Matthew 27:5, Judas hanged himself. But Acts 1:18 says, “pitching head foremost he noisily burst in his midst and all his intestines were poured out.” Matthew seems to deal with the mode of the attempted suicide, while Acts describes the result. Combining the two accounts, it appears that Judas tried to hang himself over some cliff, but the rope or tree limb broke so that he plunged down and burst open on the rocks below. The topography around Jerusalem makes such an event conceivable.

I was raised Gnostic, but went to Catholic School. My Dad and Sister were debating this once and I pointed out that they both were correct. We pulled out a family Bible and checked. sure enough it's like you said. The silver he got in exchange for Jesus was used to buy the Potter's Field (itself having many continuity problems in the Bible too!). Some claim he killed himself there as well.

His guts also spilt out in the hot sun. Which happens if your corpse is hanging from a tree for several days.

Some Gnostics hold Jesus asked Judas to turn him in, otherwise the Romans were going to start mass executing Jews. He does say in the current non-gnostic bible "DO WHAT MUST BE DONE!" and in another gospel "Do it quickly."

I have also been told that the other disciples killed him by throwing him off a cliff to ensure that Peter and not Judas or Mary Magdelene would inherit the followers as Christ had intended, (The fundamentalist are going to love that).

I personally think it points out the flaws of the Bible, a work of man.

Acts 1:18 says- With the reward he got for his wickedness, Judas bought a field; there he fell headlong, his body burst open and all his intestines spilled out.

Both verses are true. In fact, what happened here is that Judas went and hung himself and then his body later fell down and split open. In other words, the rope or branch of the tree probably broke due to the weight and his body fell down and his intestines spilled out.

In Matthew 27:5, it tells us that Judas hung himself. This is clear and plain.
In Acts 1:18 it tells of his body falling and bursting open. It wasn't a long fall. Then, why would he burst?
The answer to your question is simple-but you research it and figure it out on your own. I know, but you will not believe me since you are such a skeptic. You probably won't even believe it once you figure it out yourself.

You need to read again.

18 Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.
19 And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.

Judas hang himself after that this is the place He was put.

He did not jump off, however "if" you hung yourself and the branch broke, you could fall off the cliff infact and land on a hard rock etc, and all your guts would spill out, ya....and also, that couldve been the field of blood that the pharisees purchased with the 30 pieces from the betrayel of Judas.

Hmm. Would you believe he took a flying leap off a cliff and got tangled in a tree growing on the side of the mountain and accidentally hanged himself?

Neither would I.

That's one of several goofs missed by the Catholic proofreaders.

I believe that he was sent to heaven.
Except .. I've never heard of Matthew. Maybe Mathew wad chased down by his followers. I'm pretty sure that's what happened and he was trying to escape from them and they wouldn't let him

True true

Neither, although many stories were planted of his death. He staged his own death to escape from those who would have killed him. They did not understand his role in the situation.

There are a few external sources that suggest he was trying to make his way out of town and murdered by the followers of Jesus.

I will ring your doorbell and run away!!!
