Whenever I go in for a physical exam my mom always comes with me. She doesn't just wait in the waiting room, she comes into the exam room with me.
I don't really mind that at all and she's come my whole life so I am used to it but none of my friends will let their moms come in.
So I am wondering if there are other guys out there my age (high school) or older who let their moms go to their physicals

OK doesnt' seem like anyone is really reading what I wrote. I didn't say that I minded my mom coming in, I said that I don't care if she comes in, it's ok with me.
Just wondering if there are other guys around my age (high school or even older) who let their moms go in with them, because none of my friends do.

I don't necessarily think there is anything wrong with it and if you're okay with it there shouldn't be a problem. My mom goes in with me (though I am a teenage girl). I feel more comfortable with her being there so the doctor doesn't do anything that I don't want them to. Again, if you feel good about it, don't stress about it. If you don't feel comfortable with it then let her know. It sounds though like you're good so you should just live that way. Don't worry about what other people do because a lot of people aren't comfortable with their parents and it sounds like you are.

The best approach is to nicely explain your feelings to her in front of the doctor when you enter the examination room... Just tell her you appreciate her concern, but you are embarrassed a bit because of your age to be examined in front of the doctor with your mom watching... I'm sure she'll get the message and also make sure the doc explains the results to your mom after the physical examination... That should satisfy her...

My mom doesn't come with me to my physicals.
She has never come to any of my physicals. (Of course we live in a very small town with a single family doctor for the town.)
Having her there would just be weird to me.

My boys are in HS and when they go to the doc for a specific reason, I go in too. But simply for a full physical where they get undressed, they deserve thier privacy. I think its time to tell mom you deserve yours too.
