There are many types of whiskey.
For a straight Bourbon whiskey, Jack Daniels has many supporters.
A great Canadian blended whiskey is Crown Royal.
One of the best sour mash whiskeys is W. L. Weller.
A great blended Scotch Whiskey is The Famous Grouse.
A good single malt is The Glenlivet.
Bottoms up.

Depends on what you like.
Maker's Mark is a good Bourbon.
Jack Daniel's is ok (just really popular) but is not a Bourbon.
Chivas Regal is among the best of blended Scotches.
Of the single malt Scotches, MacCallan is a very good choice, but so is Laphroaig and Glenmorangie.
Canadian...not my preference, but Crown Royal is probably your best choice there.

All whisky is good. Why do you need the best? Are you Donald Trump?

My personal preference is Woodford Reserve. It is a very smooth Kentucky Bourbon that is good on its own, over ice, or in a cocktail.

I think that the best way for you to answer this question is to find your own personal preference. With a question like this there are more wrong answers than right ones. The more whiskey you try the better you will know what one you like the best.
