Have an intimate setting with proper place settings and nice decor. Serve something the other person is likely to enjoy, but isn't straight-up soul-food. For my last intimate dinner, I prepared chicken marsala (also stuffed the checken breast with musrooms and marsala sauce ....encrusted them with crushed walnuts), asparagus, broccoli (add a touch of Dale's to the water to beef up the flavor) and potatoes.
The meal was thoroughly enjoyed and was very fitting to the occasion.
