My sister calls her golden retriever boy - Bailey.
I used to have a female golden retriever called Sherry.
What ever it's called, make sure it gets all the love an attention - not just at christmas. They tend to put weight on easy so NEVER feed it dinner scraps.
Good luck!

Is he one of those "pretty boys"? (My brother has a little prancer.)
I always liked "Hansel" after the Zoolander character. My brother's kids call theirs Zoolander because he walks around posing all the time.

My daughter named hers "her first name's" Golden Thunder. Looks good on his akc papers but we just call him Thunder.
It suits him, it sounds like thunder when her runs through the house.

Midas has always been a nice name for a gold colored dog, and not too overused. Or how about Cortez or Aztec? All related to to 'gold'.
