I have heard that people can learn to sleep less than they need to by some excersises. In the end of six months, a person can sleep 10 minutes, which would be equal to a normal persons 8 hour sleep. Any idea where i can details or any one know how to??

I am not trying to kill myself:)
but this thing I'm asking is about concentrating and getting the sleep you need in a shorter time

I usually deal with people and sleep apnea - older adults - I am guessing young bodies are still growing! Adult bodies are fixed and not much of a consideration ... what I am getting at is that at your age your body needs the one thru five levels of sleep just for the body's sake as well as the brain, to grow and repair!

When you get to be a "BODY FULLY GROWED" Then you can start fooling around with bypassing the lower levels of sleep!

See I am 61 and I was sleep starved for REM due to sleep apnea! But a couple of years ago I started getting the proper treatment after going to one of those sleep labs and I now feel absolutely wonderful !

But all levels of sleep are necessary especially for your age!

This kind of reminds me of a philosophy professor in college who ran a experiment on himself, where he made himself aware of his dreams. He told me he was soon unable to tell whether he was awake or asleep! And worse he could not stop the experiment quickly ! So some of these things we teach our brain it remembers and continues to do, eventhough we do not like the results!

Anyway nothing wrong at all in asking and learning! That's what God gave you a brain for in the first place!

I know that you think that you have a reat nut case but I intended to answer this question for you earlier and for some case it did not take! Well back years ago was when I was in the far East courtesy of the U S Army Corps Of Engineers, I visited many of the Monasteries of various Eastern Religions the Monks meditated all during the day constantly. But they slept four to five hours every night at least if not more. They had a very strict schedule based on minimum sleep and maximum work. I am sure if over the hundreds of years and millions of hours of meditation they could of eliminated sleep they would of done it! Sleep is just a necessary thing for survival period.

Why would you want to abuse your body this way? Eventually, you will pay for it. Your body is not a machine. Treat it right, and it will last for many years. Abuse it, and you will die young.
