I have a 12 month old Toy Poodle. In the past, she has thrown up some foamy, yellow, liquidy thing that smelled like pee (not sure if she drank her pee since she is a HOUSE dog and maybe I wasn`t really paying attention. I passed the problem as that). As I predicted it stopped just a few weeks ago... But then just this morning at about 2:48 am I woke up and I found that my dog had thrown up on my bed. LIKE EVERYWHERE. But this time the vomit was stinky like poop, the texture LOOKED (I didn`t want to touch it) squishy and gooey, and it was brown (leaving my dog`s breath incredibly horrid). After I changed sheets she vomitted again!! Now since that time at 2:48 I've been DANG WORRIED... Maybe she DID eat some of her poop and pee? Or was it something bad to begin wih and only got worse? Maybe she had ate something that she wasn't supposed to? Or maybe this is just a mild sickness? I can't go to Vet right now or tomorrow since it's closed for veterens day. SOMEONE HELP PLEASE!

the yellow stuff would be BILE... not pee

the current stuff could be poop or food vomit or worse...
is your dog vaccinated? specificall against PARVO? I would go out with the dog for a bathroom break and check to see if the stools are normal or not.. if black and smelly (runny) get the dog to emergency vet.. PARVO is deadly if not treated ASAP and even a vaccinated dog could get it...

food vomit is a likley culpirt especially if you are switching the dogs food at the 12 month age stage.. I am wondering what food she is on??

remove all food for 24 hours and watch for other symptoms...

I have a dog with the same problems that I rescued while working at a vet hosptial.

It is most likely IBS - irritable bowel syndrome or reflux or a combonation of the two.
Your first concern is dehydration. You need to make sure that this does not occur - if so you will need to take your dog to the vet to get IV fluids. To check the hydration , pull the skin on the back of the dogs neck where its mother used to care as a puppy - if it pops right back you are good to go - if it takes its time then you have a dehydrated pup on your hands and need to get to a vet ASAP.
When the vet hopstial opens, go in explain the problem they will most likely give you metoclopramide and metronidazole. Used together these are great for soothing the nausea and upset stomach and getting rid of any parasite that might be hanging outl in the intestines.
You will need to put your dog on a low resideu diet - Sensitive Stomach by Science Diet (you can get this one at PetCo or PetsMart) is great or Pruina EN through your vet.
Your doctor may recommend anti-acids to settle the bile regurgitation - you give this before eating and it helps immensely or even after a bought of throwing up bile (BILE ONLY )

Good luck - this is an on going problem you will have to deal with forever. It can be managed with the medications above.

My routine when I see her get sick:
Take food and water away for 12 hours
Give medication

Ice chips for 6 hours

Move to small amounts of food - rice for a day
have bowl of water availble - supervice that there isn't a lot of drinking at once - this will induce vomitting

Then add a little bit of chicken and rice - continue for 2 days

Work normal food back in by day 3

All along taking medication.

Do you feed it people food because if you do that could be making it sick many people do not know that if you feed a dog any kind of people food it will make it sick and give it a stomach ache. It may have eaten something small such as stuff you have lying around the house on the floor, and that may have made it sick. also you may be feeding it the wrong food Ol roy from walmart is very bad for your dog it has many fillers. and there are foods out there that have many dyes in it and could also be the culprit. Talk to your vet on the best food to feed it. I would recomend science diet. It may be alitte more expensive but the trade off is that your dog will eat less, make it more healthy, and give it a shiny coat. Make sure your dog has had all of its shots.

The Vomiting that you describe can be considered a medical emergency. Vomiting causes dehydration and small dogs can die of the very quickly. Also other symptoms indicate a real problem. Bring her to the vet ASAP so you can find the underlying problem causing the vomiting.

take the food away and make sure it drinks water. you dont want it to get dehydrated. keep an eye on stools to see if they are odd too. 2 vomits arent THAT much to worry about, but if it keeps happening take her in. she might have just eaten something she shouldnt have, or just an upset tummy. one time we changed dog foods and it looked like ours puked a loaf of bread. it was icky.

dont let this go on for more than 24 hours tho (if she's still vomiting)

There is an emergency Vet on call. Call your Vet's number and there should be a number to call for emergencies.
If not, call other clinics until you find one that has an emergency number. Your dog needs care now.
Good luck.

Sounds like your dog is getting into garbage!
This can cause a very serious condition. Dogs CANNOT handle a lot of fat in their diets and will cause these symptoms.
Hope your pet is ok.

in the adventure that your vet is out right this moment, then you certainly could attempt to touch yet another vet. Your dogs could have ingested some variety of poison. in case you may not get him to drink water and save it down, then you certainly could desire to take him in.

I think your dog is suffering from gastritis. so if you have some medicine for gastritis is with you, give that for your pet. sometimes there is a chance of worm infestation. so please make a visit to your vet.
