No it is not sinful to go to church but you truly do need community to grow as a Christian. You state that your friends will not go and you do not want to be alone. I understand that but if you go and get involved - help with the children's' ministry or something else you will make new friends.

You did not state how old you were but I am making an assumption that you are a bit younger. None of my kids ever really wanted to go to church but last year we switched churches and my kids (19-32) all started to come to this church. It is called the Vineyard Church www.vineyardusa.org - it is a non denominational church that is there for the people that did not like all the old and outdated traditions. They kept the heart of Christianity but got rid of many of the other items:judgment, legalism.

They play great worship music with a band most often, with influences of U2 and others. They relate scripture to real life - you go to a church like this and I bet your friends would follow after you got excited about God and the church. That is what has happened with our children

You might enjoy going to several churches and seeing if you like any of them and feel good going to them. Church is a great way to learn, meet people, uphold your faith, contribute to your religion, grown in your faith and help others. When you join a church you become a part of a community that is there for you all the time. If your friends see you going to church and enjoying yourself; they will probably follow you to church.

There are lots of loving church communities who would like to have one more soul in their congregation.

Certainly, you do not have to got church to be a Christian but learning and growing in your faith is what is intended.

Would you go to school and stop at grade 2? No, you would want a full education: Same thing with faith. You need to be fully informed on your chosen faith. We never stop growing as we strive to do better and learn about God's ways and what He wants for us.

If a baby stops to develop at a certain age (let's say 3 years) then think of all the thinks that child/person could have learned and enjoyed.

You may stunt your growth as a Christian but you will still be a Christian as long as you believe.

The Bible says (Matthew 18:20), "For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them." It does not say to stay at home and think your own thoughts. God likes Christians to gather together to worship Him.

There is always something you can learn from God each day .

going to church or not going to church is not a sin...its what we do to fellowship its kinda like ethics. When Christians profess to be what they are but dont go to church, or have an excuse of why they dont go, cause of what someone Else is doing then that becomes the sin..the the physical going or not

Let me explain. One goes to church because every one is connected to the Lord by a thin Chord passing through the head. This Chord becomes bigger in Diameter when you go into the company of saints. All the church goers are for that time saints. If you want to pray then it is best to seek the company of saints in Church.
The fact is God cannot be found in the church. He resides in you and is with you at all times but we do not know how to invoke his blessings cause we do not know how to pray. Want to learn how to pray write to me at pahar763@yahoo.co in If you meditate then I would say you need not go to church. Is it important to go to Church with friends?. You never go and see your BF or GF with friends. If you have a deep personal relationship with God then go by yourself to the Church. No it is not a sin not to go to church but I rather that you do go

It's not wrong not to go to church. Church is where you want it to be, outside, inside, river, mountains, seaside everywhere. Whatever makes you the happiest and the most comfortable. It doesn't have to be in a building at all.

Yes, and no,
Yes, if you start falling back into old ways and habits while home etc.
NO if instead you are witnessing to others outside of the four walls(church / building that is).
I find this forum a nice place to honor God and have in on my mind and witness to others.
-live4truth=] Godbless.
Fellowship is wonderful and needed though.

I believe that God is inside each one of us, so in essense we carry the Church with us all the time.

You NEVER have to be in a Church to pray. You can speak with God wherever you are.

Have a lovely rest of the day. Bright Blessings.

I don't think it's sinful. God isn't in church , he's everywhere. The church is a building. You can love your God and practice your religion without a structure of a building.

If you believe that it is a sin not to go it might as well really be a sin because the guilt that you feel is real. If you don't think that it is a sin not to go, then NO. Don't ask others, you know what you need.
