Hi, I live in Germany so this is kind of an easy one for us overseas families.
I love you = Ich liebe dich (pronun.- ish leeba dish)
Goodbye (formally) = Auf Wiedersehen (pronun.- Owf Veedersane)
Common, shortened goodbyes:
Tschuss (pronun.- {like juice but with ch- in front.})
Ciao (pronun.- Chow)

When I lived in Mannheim, Germany...years ago, a slang word for "see ya later" was the word "choose". Sort of like choose and loose ran together.
