It is true not only in the case of pope or some other. All religious heads are anti of their religious teachings. Christ told his followers to spread his word of love and forgiveness. But all people who are christened as saints following Christ's word in letter and not in spirit. Because Christ told to spread love and forgiveness and not Christianity. These people are spreading Christianity and not Christ's words of love and forgiveness. It is the same thing in case of Islam, Jewish and Hinduism.
