No, The reason you heard somone being crucified upside down is because Peter was said to be.... He requested it saying he is not worthy to die like our Lord Jesus.

The purpose of crucifixion was to cause a lingering death and was only used, according to Roman annals, in the case of severe crimes against the state. An upside-down crucifixion would cause a much quicker death because the diaphragm would be constricted and the victim would basically suffocate, nullifying the purpose in this form of execution. There is no actual record of an inverted crucifixion, although there is a Christian tradition that this was used as a special case for St. Peter.

You and I were not there, but one of Jesus's deciples was crucified tops- turvy, so as not to be in the same manner as our lord. This does not matter, what matters is his victory over the grave, that gave the world the greatest gift, life!
